My very first custom. Aries, who is based on the first sign of the zodiac, was created from a damaged Twice-as-Fancy Up, Up and Away. I did some experimenting with her color; she went from the original darkish pink to deep blue, a lighter blue, and then finally the bright orange. Since Aries is a fire sign (signified by the triangle in her symbol), I decided to add the fire on her legs and cheek to make her a little more interesting. Finally, since I didn't have any "real" hair yet, I had an idea to use yarn -- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky, to be specific. I love this stuff for knitting, but so help me, I'll never *EVER* use it for rehairing again. (Pulling it through the plugs was a nightmare, not to mention the space it took inside the head!) However, I do love the effect -- almost like she has dreadlocks.

Her symbol is on both sides, but the cheek mark is only on the left cheek. I also painted her eyes in G3 style because I like the color swirl. She's definitely not perfect; my painting technique needs a lot of work, because the brushstrokes show all too clearly, but for a first effort, I'm pretty proud of her. She is not for sale.
