My Trip to the UK, October 2010: Day Five

Salisbury to London

Tuesday morning was when we headed back to London. We got on the road with a minimum of fuss and made it back to the car rental in one piece. We stayed at the Quality Crown Hyde Park, which was in Paddington -- right down the block from Paddington Station, actually; very convenient.

The construction in the distance is, I think, of the station. To the right is Garfunkel's, a restaurant I can't say much for, although I did get to try Pimm's there. On the left can be seen one of the entrances to the station, which we used to get to the Bakerloo line a few times.

We left Cardiff, but there's still signs of it.

I'm such a child of the 80's. Still, I couldn't resist getting this picture.

The view from our hotel room, with rain coming down.

Despite the rain, we went to Harrod's, though it closed an hour after we got there. It was still a fantastic experience. Here's Paddington's platform:

At Harrod's, I saw this beautiful Halloween cake.

And when we got back, we came out the wrong way -- but it's all right, because we found Paddington.

I don't remember when I took this, but it's sort of an in-joke for me and I had to get a picture. On a train platform.
