London: Tuesday

Tuesday was the first real day of exploring in London. We took the tube to Trafalgar Square, where we picked up a hop-on-hop-off bus tour that went all around the city. First, though, I took a quick picture of a section of Roman wall that still stands near the Tower Hill tube station.

At Trafalgar Square, there was some sort of country-music rally going on. The group was shouting, "What do we want? Country music! When do we want it? Now!" I had no idea country music was banned in the UK, but if so, well done them. On to the tour! We went over Tower Bridge and past the tower itself, and I mostly just took pictures of buildings that looked neat to me.

A first glimpse of the London Eye, followed by the Playhouse (where Spamalot is currently running), and the Sherlock Holmes pub.

Whitehall! Which I didn't even realize until we were almost past it.

Westminster Abbey and the clock tower of Big Ben.

One of my favorite pictures from the whole trip is this one of Big Ben.

We got off to go do the London Eye, which wasn't quite that spectacular since the day was overcast. It was still a nice trip, though.

After the Eye, we got back on another bus and went up to Baker Street to see Madame Tussaud's. This was fun, even if I was fried at that point. I nearly cried when I found out that Hawkeye had been removed from the display for some fixing.

Hulk's got a big ol' butt...

Last before we headed back for the day: Sherlock himself.
