CrystalMUSH Log: 10/17/1996 This log taken for the benefit of players who could not be present. The world of CrystalMUSH was created and is owned by Anne McCaffrey. Log taken by Jezhrai. Players: Jezhrai Luthe Quinn --- Luthe walks softly from the lift area. Luthe has arrived. Luthe walks quietly in, nodding politely to Quinn. Jezhrai is sitting on the examination table with her braid pulled over her shoulder. She smiles brightly. "Luthe! Hi." Quinn slowly runs his medical scanner over Jezhrai's body. You hear a slight hum and lights on the small, black gadget flicker. A single beep sounds, and a green light stabilizes, indicating no medical abnormality. Luthe grins, and moves over next to the table. "Hi. How are you?" Quinn mms, "You're fine, Jezhrai." He turns to greet the sledtech, "Hello, Luthe." Jezhrai smiles. "Not too bad. Bashed my head on a rock last night, but it's all gone now." Luthe smiles at Quinn. "Hello Quinn." He grins at Jez. "That good I guess. Why'd you bang your head on a rock?" He cocks his head to one side, grinning mischeviously. [Luthe] Luthe is a tall, thin, man with a very long, bony frame. His arms and legs seem to be held together more by threads than muscle and sinew. He has a shock of blonde, almost white hair, that hangs down to his shoulders in back. When he gets nervous he often runs his hand through it, as if to straighten it. His eyes are pale sky blue, and seem to take in everything in the room. When he looks full at you, a shiver runs up your spine, for those eyes seem to look right through you. Despite this, he is a very amiable person. He is wearing a comfortable looking pair of overalls, that show the pale marks of washed grease stains here and there. His hands are covered with small scars from little knicks and cuts that he can't remember getting. Carrying: Luthe's Communication Unit Repair Manual You feel the mild caress of crystal resonance softly along your nerves. Non-singers around you see: A faint chill seems to pass over you as Jezhrai looks at you, but she doesn't seem to react to it. Jezhrai looks down at the floor for a moment, then back up at Luthe. "Slipped on gravel while I was cutting a claim. I didn't hurt anything else, though - even flew back without crashing." She grins at that. Quinn mms, "You should also spend a bit of time soaking, Jezhrai. It's not too bad right now, but if you cut in your color, it will get worse. Your resonance, that is." Jezhrai nods to Quinn. "I was gonna do that today. Honest," she adds, smiling. Luthe chuckles quietly. Jezhrai hops off the table, landing lightly on her feet. Quinn nods, "How are things otherwise?" Quinn adds, turning so Luthe can see his lips more easily, "For both of you?" Jezhrai shrugs, "Actually, I'm doing quite well." She glances at Luthe with a soft blush, then grins. "Hey, I almost forgot. I'm clear of my debt now!" Luthe shrugs slightly. "Just fine." He catches Jezhrai's glances, and smiles again. Then the smile broadens. "Really? That's great!" Quinn grins, "Congratulations. Though I thought most of your class was already clear." Quinn mms, "At least, I know that Inanna and Rosa are." Quinn considers, "Haven't seen Selwyn - I guess that's good. Dreatha seems happy." Jezhrai nods. "Most of 'em are. Rosa and Karlia have both had their sleds upgraded. I don't know about Selwyn or Dree." Jezhrai glances at Luthe again. "Yeah - hey, I should be able to afford that upgrade with the next cut Rosa and I bring in." Luthe thinks. "Dreatha has had her sled upgraded." Quinn nods, "Inanna's had her sled upgraded too. I remember her telling me about what a blast a faster crystal drive is." Jezhrai chuckles, "I can't wait for mine. I'm turning into a real speed demon." Quinn mms, "Not that it would make a difference to me, after all. I can't fly a sled." Luthe shakes a finger at her. "Just don't crash, ok?" Quinn grins, "I can't fly anything, actually." Jezhrai giggles at Luthe, "Stop it, I haven't crashed in ages." Luthe smiles. "True... But you're using a slow drive right now." Jezhrai shrugs, nodding. "You do have a point there." She ponders for a moment. "How much does it cost to get a new drive?" Luthe considers that. "2000 credits." Jezhrai actually twitches for a moment. "Um. I will have to wait, then." Quinn mms, "I'll make a bet Rosa's upgraded too. She sings yellow, so that's nothing to her." Jezhrai nods. "Oh, yeah, Rosa did upgrade. She and I are cutting duo now." Luthe smiles. "We better not take up any more of Quinn's time..." Quinn nods, "I'm glad to hear that. Rosa's seemed very ..." He pauses, looking for the right word, "... depressed, I would guess. Nothing I can do about that, though." Luthe blinks, trying to remember if he's met Rosa recently. Jezhrai sighs. "Um, well, she thinks that nobody likes her." She leans back against the table. "And she thinks you hate her, Quinn." Quinn shrugs ambivalently, "I learned a long time ago that you can't be friends with everyone. It doesn't bother me." Luthe nods, and sits on the edge of the table next to Jez. "True. Especially singers. Excepting current company of course..." He smiles at Jez. Quinn looks from the sledtech to the Singer and back again, "Ah. Another sledtech-Singer pair, eh?" Luthe shrugs slightly. "I guess so. We're really just friends..." Luthe seems to be understating the case. ;) Quinn nods, "It's a strong commercial relationship. I had no idea you were so canny in those matters, Jezhrai." But his eyes are dancing playfully. Jezhrai is blushing fiercely by now. Jezhrai mumbles something that sounds like, "We're not going out, he just keeps pulling me out of my sled when I keep trying to kill myself..." Luthe shakes his head slightly. "For some reason she keeps falling off cliffs and over waterfalls." Jezhrai grins through her blush, "Now that we figured out where the crystal was there, I won't be doing that anymore." Quinn nods and continues, "I mean, after all, soon as you want an upgrade to your sled, you can have it installed by a professional at, more than likely, cost." But he's definitely teasing, "Only cliffs and waterfalls? Sounds like you have had minor incidents with the Curse of 2020." Luthe smiels. "She's just been trying to impress me with her injuries." Jezhrai rolls her eyes. "Minor?! Well, compared to Inanna, I suppose." Her blush gets worse as she adds, "But that's NOT... aw, nevermind." Quinn nods sagely at Luthe, "Are you duly impressed?" Jezhrai stares at the floor, red to the tips of her ears. Luthe nods back. "Yes. Very impressed. Now if she would realize that and stop getting hurt." He chuckles. Quinn nods at Jezhrai, "I agree. Stop getting hurt and trying to impress Luthe. Because you certainly are *not* impressing me." Jezhrai gives Luthe a mock-glare. "Trust me, I've learned the error of my ways." Jezhrai's jaw drops at Quinn's statement, and she gives him a look of disbelief. Quinn winks at Luthe while Jezhrai isn't looking. Luthe laughs quietly. "I'm sure you have." You sense crystal sliding softly along your nerves. Non-singers around you see: You feel a tingle and the hairs on the back of your hand rise up as Jezhrai moves past you.
